NEW PATIENT?

Welcome to Mostyn McKenzie Podiatry!

We look forward to helping you with all your Foot Care needs.

In order to treat you we need you to understand that:

  • We are HCPC registered and regulated health care professionals who need to ask for certain medical information to make an informed diagnosis and provide safe and appropriate treatment.

  • We collect certain data from you to meet mandatory requirements regarding medical notes. There is a legal requirement to keep medical notes for a period of time after treatment. This can vary in length depending on your age and ability to consent but will be for a minimum of 7 years. Your details/medical notes will be destroyed after this period if no longer active.

  • We take your privacy very seriously and will take all reasonable steps to ensure the protection of your data. Please note that your right to be forgotten cannot override the legal requirement to keep medical notes for the mandatory period. You can request a copy of any data held on you by contacting us.

  • We are required to obtain your written consent prior to your first treatment, and verbally on any subsequent routine appointments. Some treatments we offer require further written consent, and this will be discussed with you at the time.

  • You have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Please ask if there is anything you are not sure about.

  • If you do not consent we will be unable to carry out any assessment or treatment.

  • Minors (those under the age of 16) and those who lack capacity to consent must be accompanied by their parent/guardian or a responsible adult/advocate.

  • If, as part of your treatment, we need to contact/share any of your information with another healthcare professional or your GP, we will ask your permission first.

  • Please update us of any change to your health or medication.

  • We use sharp instruments to carry out general podiatry treatments. Whist every care is taken, there is a slight risk of minor injury during treatment. There is also a very small risk of infection after treatment; certain medical conditions may increase this risk.

  • You may experience some short term discomfort after the treatment of some common podiatric conditions (e.g. ingrowing toenails, corns) depending on their severity but this should resolve within 48 hours, or as advised by your podiatrist. If you are not happy with any aspect of your treatment, or continue to experience any discomfort after this time, please let the podiatrist or shop staff know as soon as possible in order for us to try and rectify this.

  • If you are still experiencing a problem after your appointment and need to be seen again within 1 week of, there will be no charge to check that particular problem.

  • Any related recheck appointments after this will be charged at the fee of £20.

  • Would all new patients please attend 5 minute prior to their appointment time, to allow them to complete the New Patient Detail Form (if not completed in advance). This asks for the names of any current medication you may be taking, so please make a note of these, or bring a current prescription for reference.

  • If you have used a pay and display car park, please ensure you have enough time on the ticket for your appointment. While we always endeavor to keep to time, the clinic may overrun so always allow a little extra time if possible!

  • Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment, so it can be offered to someone else. At least 24 hours notice would be appreciated if possible.

  • We would appreciate it if you could let us know if you change your address or contact details, so we can keep our records up to date.

As of 9th August 2021 all new patient appointments will be booked for 45 minutes (as opposed to the regular 30 minute treatment slot) to allow the podiatrist to take a full medical history relevant to your foot health, formulate a treatment plan tailored to the individual and provide any treatment required, agreed upon and appropriate at the time.

The price of an initial appointment is now £47 to reflect the extra time this takes and allow the smooth running of the clinic. Any future appointments will be at the appropriate price for the treatment carried out.

You can download a registration form to complete in advance and bring with you to your first appointment - just click on the button!

THANK YOU
